LATE JUNCTION is a regular weeknight focus on world music on BBC Radio 3, Monday to Thursday at 10.15pm

FROOTS is a monthly magazine which is widely available and often has a free sampler CD on the sleeve.
DIRECT ROOTS is a useful directory of information listing festivals, artists, labels, in fact almost everything you'd want to know about the business.
SONGLINES is packed full of the lastest CD reviews, artist interviews, guides to world music traditions, concert listings, travel stories and with every issue comes an exclusive compilation CD.

WOMAD represents the World Of Music And Dance. It stages festivals world-wide. UK Festival at Charlton Park, Malmesbury, Wiltshire,24 -26July 2009. It is closely associated with Realworld recordings who release an ever fascinating series of CD's.

 

WOMEX is the World Music Exposition which takes place annually in October. In 2009 it's in Copenhagen, Denmark -28 Oct -1Nov and will host showcases of acts from all over the world together with seminars, and an extensive trade fair.

THE ROUGH GUIDES TO WORLD MUSIC are well worth checking out, there are also pocket-size books suggesting 100 Essential CD's from various genres which are excellent reading.
In addition to this there's a superb series of mid-priced CD's based on respective countries, and musics which are produced by World Music Network who are, themselves, an excellent label.
